Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. Five years ago, we began our own adoption journey with Adoption Associates, and in 2007, a terrific little girl joined our family. That process truly gave us a respect and appreciation for the courage birthparents have and the challenges you face in making an adoption plan. We hope the chance to give your child a future full of opportunity and love brings you comfort during this difficult time. We would like to adopt another child and share a loving family, security, and wonderful experiences with him or her. Please know that we will be thinking of you and all birthparents. Thank you for considering adoption and especially us to parent your baby. We wish you a healthy pregnancy and much happiness in the future.
We own a three-bedroom house in a community in central Michigan. It is not far away from a college town and larger city, so we enjoy the benefits of a small town and a metropolitan area. Our home is close enough to the main business district that we can walk downtown in the evenings, take Lydia to the park, and visit the library. We live in a subdivision comprised of two streets and one entrance, so there isn’t a lot of traffic, which is perfect for the many children and families who live and play here.
We are active people who focus on working hard, helping people, and enjoying life. Our extended family and friends are very important to us, and we often are welcoming them to our home or are on our way to visit them. We enjoy traveling near and far, exploring the outdoors by foot, bike, and boat, and attending everything from college football games to art festivals and concerts. Lydia shares our enthusiasm and finds joy and fun in most anything. Our parents each have a cabin near the water, so we try to take advantage of them as much as possible during the summer. A typical July evening includes a boat ride and fishing followed by a game of cards and a bowl of popcorn. We also enjoy winter fun, including sledding, skiing, and cups of hot chocolate by a wood fire. In between parenting, work and recreation, we can be found completing house projects, gardening, maintaining the yard, attending church regularly, and getting some exercise. Lydia’s favorite things are music, books, and playing outside. She will start pre-school this year. We look forward to sharing all these adventures with our next child.
Craig is an engineer and manages an office for his company. He learned a strong work ethic from his father while helping him with the family farm. From his mother, he learned the importance of church and family. Growing up with two brothers and numerous cousins, he is a very caring man who adores being a father. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and reading.
Heather is grateful for the opportunity to focus on being a good mom and making our home run smoothly. Before Lydia joined our family, Heather worked full time as a magazine editor. Her parents loved to travel and taught her to embrace different cultures and experiences, even though she grew up in a small town. When she isn’t playing with Lydia, trying out a new recipe or sorting through our recent photographs, she enjoys biking, hiking, museums, and reading.
We have been incredibly lucky to grow up surrounded by supportive, loving families. We look forward to sharing that same sense of security with our children, as well as providing many opportunities for them to thrive. Heather plans to continue to stay at home. Craig will work full time to support our family. We have a completed home study on file at Adoption Associates, so please contact the agency if you would like to learn more about us. Thank you again for reading our profile and considering us.
All the best,
Heather & Craig
