Craig & Kristina

YOU... we are all about you. It is you giving birth to a beautiful child; you who is taking the time to learn about us to bless your child with two loving people for parents. It is through your unconditional love and strength that our worlds will collide and life will have a new tale to tell. We dearly desire to become parents, and we hope to share a moment of your time about this dream of ours. Our infertility has placed us in a position where we are unable to carry children safely due to a genetic disorder. While this has not been the easiest road to travel, it has reinforced how committed we are to one another and to our wish of becoming a family. As college instructors we will have the ability to guide a child as he/she grows into the best they can be. Adoption has already blessed our lives through Craig’s own adoption as an infant, and we realize you are doing the hardest part of this journey, which is connecting us into an arc: you, us and a beautiful child. Please know you are cherished and that we truly appreciate you.

Our Family

We have a large, loving family who is close. Craig enjoys playing with his four nieces and nephews, and spending many three day weekends with cartoons, toys and family dinners. Craig’s parents are devoted to their grandchildren, enjoying trips to the beach during summertime. Kristina’s sister and brother-in-law recently had their first child, who has brought joy to all of Kristina’s immediate family and extended family members. Both of our families live nearby, and we enjoy the times that we get together —laughter is the root from which we all extend.

Us

We are dedicated, family-loving people, who have shared an incredible six years together. We met while Kristina was finishing her Master of Science in Chemistry and while Craig was teaching Literature at a local college. Since that blessing, we are both active college educators who can appreciate our moments together and our moments apart. We like to play games, travel to nearby lakes and the ocean, visit with family, and watch movies together. Craig is quite talented with home improvement projects while Kristina loves designing flowerbeds. Kristina is a huge puzzle lover, which is why she will always pick up a game of Tetris or Super Collapse to relax. Lately, she has been a fan of reading about the Tudors with a Sookie Stackhouse novel tucked in between. Kristina loves sewing, fashion, all genres of music, and new technology. When younger, she was active in ballet and gymnastics. Craig is the master of creative arts in our household. This shines through in the writing he has accomplished since childhood and in his love for role-playing games. Craig has quite the appetite for science fiction and fantasy literature, and he is talented at strategy games. Craig competed in swim meets when younger and has played basketball, football, and was active in track and field. Together we have remodeled our home and supported each other through our infertility. When a challenge presents itself to us, we embrace it. In addition, we are a couple who is not afraid of new experiences. For example, we decided to travel by ferry instead of the traditional car trip to visit Kristina’s uncle, we learned Bridge and challenged Craig’s parents, and we jumped into golf just to see what it was like. We embrace life and all its quirks. It’s the quirks that brought us together.

There is a picture in our house of this wonderful man wearing bunny ears on a couch surrounded by nieces and nephews. That’s my husband...involved and fun-loving. Craig is a kind spirit with an incredible ability to reason. Due to this, we have many open discussions and an open line of communication. He has such a strong sense of self and yet has this ability to dream with the heart of a child. He is an amazing force in my life and there is not a day that goes by where I am not grateful for him. This Mary Jane found her Spider-Man.

I can’t think of anyone more fearless or determined than Kristina. She put herself through college and all the way through graduate school. She’ll throw herself into any project wholeheartedly and, succeed or fail, will be ready to challenge herself again the next day. Her energy makes every day with her something unique and special, even the days we just sit on the porch and talk. Every year Kristina finds new ways to learn and broaden her horizons—she is a fabulous role model. I would be less of a person without her in my life.

Our Promise

We do not intend on using daycare as parents and instead will arrange our teaching schedules accordingly.
